Just like doughnuts and soda won't help you with a physical goal of running a marathon, things of this world will not help us with our spiritual goal of attaining godliness. We'll dig into 1 Timothy 4:7-8 where we will learn about creating a spiritual vision and then disciplining ourselves for godliness.

The Lord’s Supper is worship through remembrance. It is specifically for those who have placed their faith in Jesus and asked Him to lead their lives, and is a response to one of Jesus’ last instructions to His disciples. By eating and drinking a small portion of bread and juice, we remember Christ’s death that paid for our sins, His constant presence and love in our lives, and His promise to return. We'll take an entire morning to focus on what He has done . . . for us . . . through His death.
